Set to Sun is a Cagliari festival that brings together jazz, electronica, rock and comedy. This year it brings to the city the new London jazz of Theon Cross and Tom Skinner, the jazz-punk of Gilipojazz, the electronic ambient of Plants Heal, the noise rock of Uzeda and the stand-up comedy of Filippo Spreafico. Five shows take place at Sa Manifattura, the former tobacco factory in central Cagliari; the closing night is at Cueva Rock in Quartucciu.

Plants Heal brings together drummer Dave De Rose and keyboardist Dan Nicholls, two figures from London's experimental scene. Drums, synths, samples and field recordings weave into slow, hypnotic pieces inspired by the plant world. Their latest record is Forest Dwellers. They open the festival.

Stand-up comedian Filippo Spreafico performs in Italian and English across Europe, from the Edinburgh Fringe to comedy clubs in London, Rome and Milan. In Cagliari he brings Anteprima dello spettacolo precedente ("Preview of the previous show"), a set that plays with the audience's expectations and with the stand-up format itself. The show is in Italian.
A Madrid trio made up of Iker García, Ángel Cáceres and Pablo Levin. They play a mostly instrumental jazz-punk that mixes funk, prog and metal, with theatrical energy and plenty of humour on stage. They have released ¿Dónde está el jazz? (2022) and Progresa adecuadamente (2024), and have played festivals such as Sziget in Budapest.
London drummer and composer Tom Skinner plays in The Smile with Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood and was a founding member of Sons of Kemet. As a solo artist he has released Voices of Bishara (2022) and Kaleidoscopic Visions (2025), records that blend jazz, electronics and broken rhythms.
Theon Cross is the tuba player who changed what his instrument can do in London's new jazz scene. A former member of Sons of Kemet, he uses the tuba as bass line, lead voice and rhythmic engine, drawing on grime, dub and Caribbean music. He has released Fyah, Intra-I and the live album Affirmations, recorded at the Blue Note in New York.
A band from Catania, Sicily, active since the late 1980s, with Giovanna Cacciola on vocals and Agostino Tilotta on guitar. Uzeda are an international reference point for noise and math rock: they released records on the American label Touch and Go and worked with Steve Albini for many years. They close the festival.
